Arachis cardenasii is a wild Arachis species found in Bolivia, Brazil, and Paraguay, which is valuable in peanut cultivar development for its resistance to early leafspot, Cercospora arachidicola. It has been used by peanut breeders and geneticists in interspecific hybrids and also in mapping crosses (B genome).
