The 'TG 26' x 'GPBD 4' F6 population used to validate the linkage of rust resistance with transposable element markers AhTE0498 and AhTE0928 was composed of 148 recombinant inbred lines (RILs). The line 'TG 26' is susceptible to the foliar fungal disease rust whereas 'GPBD 4' is a resistant variety. AhTE0498 and AhTE0928 exhibited polymorphism between the parents 'TG 26' and 'GPBD 4' and the population was genotyped for these markers. Single marker association (SMA) analyses were undertaken using late leaf spot (LLS) and rust resistance data from 10 seasons.
